Arlington Custom Builders is a husband-and-wife-owned company specializing in custom home building, whole-home remodeling, and thoughtful renovations throughout Arizona.
Alan Anderson began working in construction during high school and college for his father's company, EG Anderson Construction, in Arlington Heights, Illinois. When the family moved to Arizona in 1985, Alan and his family founded Arlington Construction Company, which eventually became Arlington Custom Builders.
More than four decades later, Alan remains hands-on with the company and its projects. His extensive construction experience and personal involvement in each project help ensure that the details are right from the beginning through completion.

Alan & Brenda: A Team Built Around Your Vision
Alan's construction experience is complemented by Brenda Southard's more than 30 years of design expertise. A sixth-generation Arizona native, Brenda began her career as a fine art student at Arizona State University before pursuing interior design, where she found a natural fit for her creativity and passion for creating beautiful spaces.
Brenda specializes in kitchen and bath design and is frequently called upon by cabinet suppliers for custom designs. Her work has also been featured in magazines, reflecting her reputation as an accomplished Arizona designer.
Together, Alan and Brenda bring design and construction expertise under one roof. That combination allows them to look at a project from both perspectives—from how a space should look and function to how it should ultimately be built.
Experience You Can Trust
Arlington's experience extends well beyond individual remodeling projects. Alan and Brenda have taken on everything from custom homes and whole-home renovations to large-scale residential development.
One notable project involved transforming five acres of land into a 17-home subdivision. The project included rezoning the property, coordinating sewer, water, utilities, and roads, developing the home designs and floor plans, creating kitchen and bath designs, securing financing, developing the marketing plan, and ultimately building the homes.
Arlington has also completed custom residences ranging from a 3,400-square-foot home in the West Valley to a 6,000-square-foot custom home in North Scottsdale.
That breadth of experience gives homeowners confidence that their project is being guided by people who understand the entire building process—not just one piece of it.
